Greetings parents and students of Newport School District. We here at the technology department would like to thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time. Due to time constraints, along with looking at planning for next year, we will not be collecting Chromebooks this summer unless you do not plan on returning to school this fall. Any lost or damaged Chromebook charges will be assessed at that time. If you have any questions you can get a hold of us by emailing GrizIT@newportgriz.com or calling us at 509-447-3567.
Please have a safe summer and we will see you this fall!
The vision created during the Strategic Planning process is to give students and staff access to practical technology to promote lifelong learning whenever they need it on any device.
One of the objectives is to provide staff with training opportunities that allow them to easily integrate technology into their curriculum and engage students in the use of technology. This year we will be concentrating our efforts on providing opportunities for staff to learn how they can easily use Google Classroom and Google Docs to enrich their curriculum and engage students with tools they have access to 24/7.
Why Google? Google allows staff and students to access their work and collaborate at any time on PCs, Macs, iPads, iPods, tablets and even phones.
